Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)

General Responsibilities:

Plan, develop and monitor treatment interventions based on data collection and observation; Serves as a consultant to the Registered Behavior Technician and to the Therapeutic Support Specialists, while maintaining direct contact with the family.

Acts as a liaison between clinical team, families, and school/community settings.

Education/Training:

  • Master's Degree or Doctorate in Mental Health or a related field (Social Worker, Special Education, or Psychology).
  • Board Certification in behavior analysis is required.
  • Excellent leadership, organizational, and communication skills

Skill(s): Excellent written and oral communication, presentation and leadership skills; excellent organizational skills and interpersonal skills; ability to negotiate conflict resolution; ability to facilitate effective team communication; Knowledge of Applied Behavioral Analysis and Functional Behavioral Assessments; Ability to develop a treatment plan and crisis plan with measurable goals; Ability to complete clinical assessments; Intermediate PC Skills and Proficiency in Microsoft Office Software including Word, Excel, & Outlook.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience working with children with Developmental Disabilities and/or Mental Health Disorders.
  • Prior experience in Behavioral Health preferred.

Requirements:

  • Must be able to complete and pass criminal background check, child abuse, FBI, drug screen, & physical

Essential Duties

  • Provide Behavioral Analysis Services, including behavior therapy, consultation and support to family members in order to stabilize the child and family situation and to provide transfer of skill to parents/caregivers.
  • Works all authorized hours in accordance to each child's prescription for services.
  • Maintain an average of 70% billable hours, pending circumstances beyond clinician's control such as insufficient caseload or cancellations
  • Collaborates with treatment team members in the development of goals and interventions. Write Functional Behavioral Assessment, Treatment Plans, Behavioral Support Plan, Discharge Planning, and Crisis Plan.
  • Collects indirect and direct data on the targeted behaviors. This may include completing standardized supplementary assessments as necessary that match the skill deficit or behavioral need, such as social deficits, communication deficits or deficits in self-regulation, adaptive or self-help areas of development.
  • Conduct monthly team meetings, as needed; facilitate four to six month reviews for each child on caseload, as needed.
  • Design treatments for skill building, as well as for problem behaviors that link the function of (or the reason for) the behavior with the intervention strategies and develop appropriate replacement and/or desired behaviors.
  • Design individualized, evidence-based treatment plans that utilize principals of applied behavior analysis to create behavior change.
  • Collect, quantify, graph, and analyze data on targeted behavioral excesses and deficit during treatment to maximize and maintain progress toward treatment goals.
  • Complete assessment tools and monitor outcome measurement on each treatment goal.
  • Provide transfer of skill to parents/caregivers through interventions such as modeling, parent coaching, parent training, and interventions as written in the behavior plan.
  • Clinically advise the ABA Therapeutic Support Staff / RBT staff.
  • Directly train TSS/RBT on the treatment plan and monitor implementation and treatment integrity.
  • Maintains communication with treatment team to report obstacles, progress and/or concerns about treatment.
  • Collaborate with administrative team to provide any needed clinical information directly to insurance company for authorizations and utilization reviews.
  • Attend additional training required by program/department. Maintain current training certifications as needed for programs.
  • Participate in special projects as requested
